Bakery Style Sugar Cookie Icing

How's that for a title?  Long enough for you?  I'm just messin' with you tonight--I just might need to go to bed as I get kind of silly the later it gets.  Suddenly, my everything is funny when I am overly tired....

A few months back we had patriotic cookies ( http://twochicksandamom.blogspot.com/2015/06/lovin-4th-with-sugar-cookies.html) with this delicious icing recipe on the blog.  The original recipe I found on http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sugar-Cookie-Icing/ and, take it from someone who worked in the local bakery as a teenager, this recipe tastes just like what we put on our sugar cookies.  Memories......

I want to share it again with you.  We made sugar cookies in Halloween shapes last week and iced them with this great icing.  No, we didn't get fancy but you can!

1 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons milk
2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Mix together.  I usually at least double this recipe so I have extra to add food colorings to.  This icing has a nice sheen to it and, as I said earlier, is so good!  It dries nicely, too, but doesn't get "crumbly".

Hope you will give it a try!
