Happy Halloween! Okay, it isn't there yet but it is close. We have decorations up and our new Snoopy-Woodstock inflatable, too! I have been buying Trick-or-Treat candy each visit to the store because in our town, the kids (parents) go the okay to do just that.
Last week while my granddaughter Kate was here (her school district was on Fall break), we decided to make cookies with a Halloween twist.
We managed to get through baking without eating too many of the M & Ms, too.
Here is the recipe:
1 box Betty Crocker White, Vanilla, or Chocolate Cake Mix
2 eggs or .5 cup of pasteurized liquid egg
2/3 cup shortening
White Chocolate Chips
Halloween M & Ms
Confectioners Sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees while you are mixing the cookie dough. Pour ONE HALF the dry cake mix into a mixer bowl, add the eggs and the shortening--stir or mix till combined.
Add the other half of the dry cake mix and stir or mix to combine. Then add the white chocolate chips and M & Ms and stir. Take a small amount of dough and roll into a ball, roll in confectioners sugar , then flatten one time with your hand for a cookie that is about 2 inches in diameter. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Place in oven for approximately 8 minutes (my new oven takes a bit longer).
Sprinkle with more confectioner's sugar and allow to cool on baking sheet for about 5 minutes, the remove to cooling rack.
Thanks for stopping by!
