FUNTASTIC FRIDAY LINK PARTY 465 AND HOLIDAY FEATURES

HAPPY DECEMBER EVE!

How are you in your holiday plans? Mine are coming along but I have decided to not decorate as much this year. My husband is helping a family member who is in need and I don't know if he will even be home by then. We did get a new Christmas tree this year from Costco but, even with my kids' help, not sure I will put it up this year. Jack, our rescue cat, believes that we put a Christmas tree up for him and I spent a lot of time chasing him away with a squirt bottle of water last year. Any ideas out there to keep a cat out of your Christmas tree?

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

I haven't said anything here but I have also been dealing with cancer this past year and a half. I am in remission from ovarian cancer currently but, due to my tumor having a genetic defect of HRD+ (don't feel bad, I'm an RN and had to look it up) I still am having treatments (but not as bad as chemo) but one of the major side effects is fatigue. So what gets done for decorating, gets done and I will be happy with that. I keep meaning a post about my cancer journey but just haven't felt up to it. Maybe this is a first step.

Okay, enough of the that! On with the party!

Here is a seasonal favorite--our FELT SANTA FILLED WITH CANDY with instructions ot make your own! Makes a great neighbor, teacher, church member, friend or gift topper present! Goes together quickly and is very inexpensive (maybe not the wrapped candy these days). Hope you will take a peek.

  1. Ahhhh, cats and Christmas trees! I appreciate your candor regarding your cancer journey and believe you should write about it. Your life is so full, with family and achievements and plans for tomorrow, they too are part of that journey. Take care.

  2. I'm so sorry to hear that you have been dealing with cancer the past year. I will add you to my prayers. I have a cat too, and yes, they are Christmas decorations destroyers, it's frustrating but fun to watch their excitement too..like seeing Christmas through the eyes of a little child. I also am not decorating much because I just had hip replacement surgery and don't feel up to dragging heavy totes up and down stairs or climbing ladders.

    1. Thank you for adding me to your prayers, Amy, that is the best medicine there is. I will pray for you to heal quickly and fully from your surgery, too. True about the cats--our Jack finds everything so interesting lol.

  3. Wishing you HEALTH and HAPPINESS in the New Year! * My mom had breast cancer in the '50s when chemo wasn't even heard of ~ she had radiation treatments and a total mastectomy (much more radical than they do now). She lived for over 30 years longer (what a miracle!) and the hospital regularly contacted her, since she was their longest living survivor. So, believe ~ miracles do happen ~ especially to beautiful people!

    1. Hi Debbie I hadn't mentioned anything on the blog about the cancer till this post, so not, you didn't miss it. It's always good to know one more survivor! I did know you were an RN--when I went to my first few appointments I would say to the oncology nurse, "I'm an RN but not an oncology RN" lol. I have studied up, though! Thanks for joining our party each week. How fun to have twin girls coming soon--praying all goes well,
