Graduation season is upon us and with that comes gift-giving. This year Ali's husband graduated with his Bachelor's in English degree and our two oldest grandsons, Jordan and Avery (only a little over a year apart in age) are graduating from high school. I like to think about what a person might like in terms of gifts but with teenagers, I figure you can't go wrong with cash. Giving cash in a grad card is fine but I wanted to do something a little more festive and fun for the boys.
Larry and I were doing our weekly shopping and while in Walmart, we saw these cute little pinatas in the party aisle. Personal-sized and just right for giving!
What teenage boy doesn't like tacos (okay, there are probably some)? Fortnite--can't go wrong there. Plus, festive and fun (see above)!
I picked up a few bags of individually wrapped candies because no one wants a pinata without candy in it.
Then I added cash in a couple of different denominations.
Next, I placed the candy into the pinata but kept a few mini-Kit Kat bars out to wrap the cash around. I secured the cash to the candy with some graduation stickers. You could also use washi tape or even some curling ribbon.
Place the "candy bar cash" into the pinata and close the flap!
Quick, easy, and creative! Put a smile on the face of the new grad as they begin their next chapter.
Thanks for stopping by!
