It's that time of year again (actually, it's that time of year several times during the year)--another DIY wreath that cost right around $10 to make (Dollar Tree did become $1.25 Tree, after all). Memorial Day is coming up and Flag Day on June 14th (which I loved as a kid because my birthday is June 19th so it was almost there!) and then our lovely country's birthday on July 4th.
As some of you may know, we lost one of our twin boys many years ago due to complications of premature birth. I can't do much for my boy, but I always keep his gravesite decorated and well-maintained (Dad helps, too). Many of the wreaths I make are to place on Scott's headstone and I share many of them here on my blog.
I will add the list of items I used and where I purchased them (no affiliation links). I will post a link to one of my other wreaths where I show you step-by-step how to assemble the wreath, but it is quite simple. I usually go with a patriotic colored wreath in the summer and this year is now exception.
PATRIOTIC DIY WREATH 2024
One green foam wreath (Dollar Tree)
3 spools of fabric ribbon (Dollar Tree)
Wooden, pre-painted cutouts, such as the firetruck and truck (Hobby Lobby)
Wooden stars and wooden initial letters (Hobby Lobby)
*Acrylic stars were from Hobby Lobby
Hot glue gun, glue sticks, and sewing straight pins
You, of course, can add any embellishments that you like. This wreath would also be cute for a little one's room who really loves vehicles!

Happy wreath-making and have a relaxing and thoughtful Memorial Day!
