Do you have any fun plans for summer? My husband and I are taking out first-ever cruise to Alaska in August. Looking forward to it but all the ins and outs of cruising (booking shore excursions, transportation from and to the ship, etc.) is more than I was aware of lol. Any tips for me? Comment below!

ReplyDeleteThanks for another great linky party! August may be colder than you think, especially if it's towards the end. Yes, they'll hand out parkas for the day that you're in Glacier Bay, but they usually get a permanent snow in September so could be pretty cold towards the end of August! Maybe stick a silk long underwear top in your suitcase, just in case. (And you may want to go on a helicopter or plane cruise over the glacier, which may stop and let you walk around). Have fun and think about the people in Texas who will (undoubtably) have triple digit heat then!

How exciting! We loved the Alaskan cruise we went on. I think you will love too! Please find the Skagway post I linked this week. You can also find posts on the other ports we visited. This will give you an idea of which ports are close enough to the cities that you might not need to do an excursion. But if you are booking excursions, its cheaper to book them before the cruise rather than making reservations once you are on the ship. Also, the excursion you want could be all booked up by then. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Feel free to email me.
